Cripps Harries Hall

Public sector

Any organisation that works in the public sector needs legal advisers who understand how they work, the pressures they face on costs and service delivery, and their increasing accountability.

What we do

Our public sector team draws together lawyers from our main business areas who understand the issues that you face and can provide a flexible multi-disciplined approach. Our standard documents address your special concerns with, for example, the environment, national security and equality and diversity.

  • We work for government departments who require occupational space or operational facilities, or are disposing of assets.
  • Many of us are involved in publicly funded infrastructure projects such as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and Crossrail.
  • We work for many registered providers of affordable housing (formerly called registered social landlords).
  • We work alongside local authorities on regeneration projects, compulsory purchase, planning, and outsourcing where the in-house team needs extra support or specialist help.

Our real estate, planning, construction, CPO and dispute resolution lawyers are the most heavily engaged in public sector work, but we also draw on the resources of regulatory and commercial specialists when required.

Why Cripps Harries Hall?

We are a member of the Government Procurement Services panel (and before that Buying Solutions, CATALIST and L-CAT). We have the support of a dedicated client relationship team whose function is to manage your relationship with us, keep you informed (through an extranet if that is your preference) and ensure that we deliver on time every time and in accordance with pre-agreed service levels.

We have worked with government departments, local authorities and other public sector organisations since the 1990s, consistently providing best value. We are not only experts in our fields, we understand the way the public sector works.
