Cripps Harries Hall

Wills and trusts

Making a will is vital to the security of those you care about, yet seven out of ten people have still not got round to it.

If you make a Will you can ensure that those you care about are properly looked after and you can often make tax savings as well.

What we do

Getting the formalities right is essential, or there will be major problems. We also check that you have missed nothing out and that your Will covers the future if things do not turn out quite as you expect. There may be ways of saving tax and preserving your wealth for future generations. These often make use of trusts, and need a thorough knowledge of tax.

Previous generations may have made trusts that now need to be managed. Trust administration is a specific service we offer.

We can also help with the variation of trusts, changes of trustees, and have special expertise in resolving disputes over Wills and trusts.

Why Cripps Harries Hall?

We offer a wealth of experience, having advised individuals and families for well over a century. Planning for the future is not a mechanical process. It involves our getting to know you and a deep understanding of your circumstances and wishes. All in the total confidence of a professional relationship. We have a first-rate national reputation in this area.

+ Private Lives issue 13 - Autumn/Winter 2009
The first hints of winter frosts are felt in Tunbridge Wells as this edition of Private Lives goes to print. Summer in Devon seems distant a memory now: at Paignton Zoo the keepers are busy with animals indoors and at Salcombe Dairy the ice cream delivery bicycle is garaged until the spring. Increasing unemployment affects clients at all levels and Roger Byard, back from his sabbatical, is giving strategic advice although there is a sense the worst may be behind us.

+ Private Lives issue 12 - Spring 2009
These are difficult times for everyone. The news is full of stories of redundancies, restructurings and businesses collapsing. But it doesn't all have to be negative; in every downturn there is an upside that can work to your advantage. In this issue, we take a look at some of the opportunities available. If you are a leaseholder, this is an excellent time to make an offer for the purchase of the freehold. Freehold values are calculated based on the value of the property;so if the property has dropped in value, so will the price of the freehold.
