Our clients
We know and deal with the major rural agents in the South East. Our clients include a number of landed estates across the country. We deal with landlords and tenants, families, trusts and charities.
Given our location just outside London we often act for those making 'lifestyle acquisitions' as well as for overseas purchasers and those looking for investment opportunities.
Why Cripps Harries Hall?
Most of our team are from a farming background. We take time to get to know you, so we understand your aims and concerns. At the same time we are aware of commercial realities and the need to give down-to-earth advice.
We think you will appreciate our personal service.
Next steps
For further information please contact Sally Firby or Fiona McIntosh.
Our team plays a key advisory role with major landowners both regionally and nationally. Here are a few examples of the work they have been invovled with.
- Acting on the sale of a country estate for just under £4 million. Involving the unravelling of a share farming arrangement and strategic advice on the best way to deal with the incumbent tenant farmer.
- Acting on the purchase of a substantial country estate in Surrey for £6 million. Although the estate had originally been in one ownership it had been split over the years and to amalgamate it back meant considering and fitting together sixteen separate Land Registry titles.
- Acting on the sale of a significant farming estate in East Sussex for £3.5 million. The estate itself was split into lots although ultimately the same buyer bought the whole. There were employment issues to consider as well as splitting entitlements as the seller was retaining land in the area.
- Acting for two charities in connection with the sale of an estate in East Sussex. This involved regularising the access and rights to use service media as well as dealing with the existing agricultural tenant. The sale involved a very tight timescale and was complicated as ultimately the estate was split into lots.
- Acting on the purchase of a substantial area of farm land for clients who were occupying the adjoining residential properties. This involved planning issues, the grant of option agreements and development uplift provisions.
- Acting on the purchase of a listed property at Maidstone for £4 million which involved a complex unregistered title and listed building issues.
