  • Acting for a beneficiary under a substantial family trust containing assets valued by that trust of £20 million. The core issue concerned the mismanagement of the trust by the trustees.
  • Challenging the validity of a Will with an estate valued in excess of £1 million. The case concerned allegations of forgery and the use of expert handwriting evidence.
  • Acting for relatives of a deceased in defending an Inheritance Act claim against the estate. The deceased died intestate and the claim was brought against the estate by a friend of the deceased who claimed to have been living with the deceased as husband and wife in the two years immediately prior to her death.
  • Successfully bringing a claim challenging the validity of a Will on the ground of fraudulent calumny, where the testator is given incorrect information which causes him to alter the terms of his Will.
  • Successfully advising on the removal of executors for delay in the administration of the estate and for breach of duty.
  • Advising two sisters, in their capacities as both trustees and beneficiaries, in relation to a complicated family dispute with their brother who had failed to properly administer their mother's estate. The assets within the estate and the family trusts had a value of in excess of £1 million.
  • Successfully resolving a claim under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 on behalf of a husband who had not received reasonable provision from his second wife's estate. This claim was settled on very favourable terms at a mediation.
  • Acting for a client who had commenced High Court proceedings seeking substantial damages from his former solicitor and barrister for allegedly negligent advice given to him to settle a complicated commercial claim.
  • Bringing a claim against a client's former solicitors for giving inadequate advice about litigation costs.
  • Advising a client in a claim against his solicitor for failing to provide advice about the existence of evidence of compliance with buildings regulations.
  • Obtaining a new Premises Licence for a chain restaurant in the new Westfield shopping centre, Stratford City, London
  • Acting for a new educational client, advising on a range of licensing issues
  • Providing general betting advice regarding an on line betting business which included advice on applying to vary the license
  • Advising the Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust upon a variation to their Premises Licence
