Corporate Social Responsibility at Cripps Harries Hall LLP

We are committed to carrying out our business in a socially responsible way. To help achieve this we have adopted a policy of corporate social responsibility (CSR). It is a policy that is constantly monitored and updated.

We set out below our understanding of what CSR means and what we are doing about it.

  • What is CSR?

  • Why is it important?

  • What is our aim?

  • What are we doing?

What is CSR?

CSR means many things but usually centres around the concept of “sustainable development”.

It has described as “how business takes account of its economic, social and environmental impacts in the way it operates – maximising the benefits and minimising the downsides”.

In other words, it is about taking responsibility for the impact of our business on all those who are affected by it.

Our CSR policy coordinates all the activities going on in our firm that benefit our clients, our people, our suppliers, the local community and the wider world. It is a policy that underlies everything that we do.

Why is CSR important?

As a business we recognise our impact on the world around us. The way we do business dictates the footprint we leave behind. If we take the time to “maximise the benefits and minimise the downsides” then we can help to create a better world.

In particular, we can play a part in addressing the issues of global warming and sustainable development by reducing the environmental impact of our activities. These issues are no longer just theoretical issues but real problems that require practical action by us all.

Our aim

We will put CSR at the heart of our decision making process to ensure that wherever possible we are:

  • Acting in an ethical manner

  • Improving the overall service we offer to clients

  • Creating a positive working environment for our people

  • Giving back to the local community

  • Minimising our impact on the environment
