Transport

The most recent Department for Transport survey* shows that there are around 103,000 transport operators in Great Britain. In addition, there are around 18,000 businesses which may not be involved in the transport industry directly, but whose operations require then to run commercial vehicles.

Whether you are in the road haulage business, or maintain a fleet of vehicles to make deliveries or allow your employees to reach their customers, you will want your law firm to ensure you have the correct licences and permissions in place, and that you comply with all the latest health and safety regulations. And, if the worst happens and you are involved in a dispute relating to a traffic accident, health and safety incident or employment issue, then you need someone you can rely on.

Our specialist transport group can help you whatever your size or location in England or Wales. We can provide you with practical and cost-effective advice on:

  • applying for, or seeking to vary, an “O” licence
  • renewing “O” licences
  • public inquiries to review an “O” licence
  • appeals against a decision by the Traffic Commissioner
  • interview requests by the police or VOSA
  • prosecutions in the Magistrates’ and Crown courts
  • health and safety issues
  • employment law
  • tax issues
  • general commercial advice.
